Media Release: Sale of SANParks’ available accommodation through website hits record high!
Subsequent to the release of 14 731 room nights, which were previously contracted to MATCH Services, to the public by SANParks on Thursday, 4 March 2010, SANParks has announced that it had sold two-thirds of that inventory by midnight on that day.
Glenn Phillips, Managing Executive of Tourism and Marketing at SANParks said: “After announcing that we would be releasing the accommodation received back from MATCH, we were pleased to note that by midnight on the date of making the units available on our systems, two-thirds were sold out and we are positive that the remainder of unsold inventory will be sold soon.”
In addition to the rapid sale of the World Cup accommodation on the day, SANParks also recorded a day of highest online sales of accommodation through its website. “Yesterday we recorded R726K in reservation sales through our online booking system,” said Phillips. “This booking system has proved itself a real asset to SANParks and we are glad to have made this available for our clients’ convenience and even more so after witnessing how many more clients are using this system to make their bookings with SANParks.”
Accommodation is also available for the June/July 2010 period at other parks managed by SANParks and bookings can be made by calling reservations on (012) 428 9111 or through the website at www.sanparks.org.
“SANParks is working hard to provide the highest quality of service to our visitors and being able to release this accommodation to our client base and welcome them during this peak season gives us tremendous pleasure. We hope that everyone who has booked their accommodation enjoys their stay in the tranquil South African natural heritage that SANParks works to preserve,” concluded Phillips.
