Kgalagadi - Kaa entrance with one car?

Unread postby JeroenRotterdam » Sat Feb 01, 2014 5:53 pm

Hi all! First: i'm a newbie on this forum and a newbie with regards to Kgalagadi. I've been visiting South-Africa quite often the last years and the plan is to go to Kgalagadi the end of this month. We will start in Jo'burg, go up to Nata, then Chobe/Victoria Falls followed by the Okavango Delta and Kgalagadi. The plan is to go through the entrance gate at Kaa and leave at Twee Rivieren after staying 5 nights in the park. We will travel with a 4x4 (camper). Are we allowed to drive with just one car from Kaa to Kannaguass into the park? I'm very sorry if this question is already answered somewhere on this forum but i couldn't find it. I really hope someone can help me out.

By the way...if anyone has some advice or tips regarding our itinerary, please comment. Baie dankie in advance! ;-)

Hi JeroenRotterdam and a warm welcome to the forum.......... :gflower:

Have a look in this topic........ Kgalagadi : Botswana section

Lots of very useful info.

To answer your question on one vehicle on the access route from Kaa to Kannaguass....... one vehicle is allowed on that route.

Hi JeroenRotterdam,

I am doing a similar trip in June / July over 20 days, but just sticking to Botswana. You can PM me your itinerary if you still in the planning phase for comments. I think adding KTP to the trip will result in lots of mileage and time spend in the car. Depending on where you stay in Moremi / Savuti it will take at least 2 or more days to KTP.

Alternative point of entry can be Mabuasehube gate and then plan 5 days in that area / part of it in SA side exiting south.
