Hi guys,

I've read a lot of the messages above about the problems with the new system of buying a wildcard..... I'm living in the Netherlands and our departure date to SA is the 25th of august. Sure no time enough to get the card deliverd at my home address..... I understand that in my situation I have to buy the card online as late as possible, and that I can use the confirmation letter with my proof of identity to enter the parks. I also read that the validity of the confirmation letter is 30 days. We will stay 4 weeks in SA so I have to buy it online one of the last days before my departure. My question is, do you get the confirmation letter immediately (like the confirmation you get when you book accomodation online) or will it last a few days?...... (as is the case when you book a wilderness trail for example).

Another thing which is not clear to me, can I enter the Kwazulu Natal Parks (Hluhluwe iMfolozi) as well with the confirmation letter?

I sent some emails to the Wildcard organization this week but until now they did not answer..... I hope somebody of the forumers can help me with this questions.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Inri,

I'll try to answer your questions.

You don't have to buy the car on-line but it is recommended.

The email confirmation should reach you minutes after the transaction is completed. If you don't receive it please check your Spam folder.

There is no time limit on when you can use the confirmation letter, that has been scrapped.

You will be able to use the confirmation letter in any park where the Wild Card is accepted but please be aware that not every KZN Park accepts the Wild Card.

Hope these answers help, if not please let me know and I'll try to get the answers for you.

Hi Saraf,

Thank you for your message. On the wildcard department of the Sanparks site I found this information today:

Both forms will be valid for 30 days from date of purchase, and may be used during this time with valid Identification, in order to access Parks.

Do you think this is not correct?

They haven't been enforcing it.

Hi guys,

I'm just hi-jacking this post to save starying a new one. Can anyone point me in the direction of who to contact to get my wildcard. It was renewed 6 months ago and still no sign of the card although we do receive the magazines!

Based in the UK we bought our wild card on line on 4 December 2012 for a trip in Feb 2013.

Guess what arrived in the post today?

Is that because we loved Kruger so much that we're going back in 7 weeks?

Very impressed!!!!

I ordered a new Wild Card for our son, at the end of October online while we were still in the UK.

10 days later we had notification that it was waiting to be picked up at Phalaborwa Post Office (Phala being our home for the next 5 months)

The said card was successfully picked up this morning.

Bought our new Wldcard at Satara......told the lady that it is the 3rd year that I am buying one but never receive the card in the post....she then phoned the card division and let me speaks them...they took my details and within 4days I got a notice to say my card is on its way to my nearest post office...then another notice 2days ago to say I can collect my card. I then had to phone to post office to notify them to hold the crd as I will only be back in Coe Town on the 5th or 6th of July.
The lady at Satara was very helpful and due to her I got my wildcard

Hi charlie,

Yes you can buy a Wild Card at the gates. If they are busy and you are staying in a camp overnight they may ask you to buy at reception of your first camp, when you check-in.

You will be asked to provide details of your passports, I don't know if you will have to fill in a form at the time. You will not get a physical card at the gate/reception. Please keep your receipt, you will need it at subsequent camps (and parks if you are visiting more than Kruger).

To get a physical card you will need to go online and fill in your address details. The details will be on the receipt you receive when you buy the card.

I have just tried to renew my card on the internet.. Was told that I was not in their Database . So I phoned and a very pleasant lady said that there was a problem with the website but she did the transaction with no problems and when the letter was sent ALL my details were on it . I never gave her my address but it came up on the letter . So I do hope they sort it out soon .
Now where Shall I go today to use the wild card !!!!
