Taken just before entering the camp.

another critter fairly close to the gate.

maybe not a pretty, but taken from the Punda hide. Part of the Maribou courting dance.

The bird doesn't sing because it has answers, it sings because it has a song.

Courtship dance! Definitely pretty for another marabou!
Thanks M.M.

Kite, I think that the Punda bird hide is one of the most productive that I have experienced. I sat one night watching a giant eagle owl have a good supper.
The bird doesn't sing because it has answers, it sings because it has a song.

Will update that topic and some others here after my next november-beginning of december 2014 trip :)

Though i am not a birder,i will try to focus on birds on this trip, will miss all the predators and others, while looking in the trees

Will stay four nights in Punda and hope to have plenty of time to go to the hide ,walk the Flycatcher Trail and look around the birth pond, when i will not be in Pafuri or around the Mahonie loop.

Anne catherine,
It will be wonderful to be there in Summer, when when the vegetation is so green, and the bush is alive with creatures from creepy crawlies to butterflies and birds and all the large and small mammals and babies.
We often find that we see animals that just appear when we stop for birds.
Enjoy Punda Camp and all the beautiful areas up north!

Thanks Kite,

I have already been several time in the north in Punda and Pafuri camp, each time in February and enjoyed.
The weather was very hot but dry.
We were not specially focusing after birds at that time(only the more coloured ones i think).
Can't wait to be there,i will be in Punda just the firsts days of December, don't know if it will be very different of February.
Just before Punda i will be in Sirheni for the first time, will report also about it. :)
