Satara - GC6BD - stayed in one during December and loved it. One of the older circles and very established lots of trees and birds. An african wild cat came and sat and watched us have dinner on the stoep. The honey badger visits and there is a family of dwarf mongoose living in the middle of the circle so no perimeter but lots to see and very quiet part of the camp

Thank you for the information, Suebfly.

We have always camped and stayed in three bed accommodation, but now need to enter new territory with 4 and 6 bed accommodation :-)

I have just read your ACTUAL question - which was "which unit to ask for" - there are only 5 of theGC6BD at Satara and they are all at the back of the circle so there is really no "best" one

SKUKUZA: Semi Luxury riverside - East or West?

Unread postby stephan groen » Fri Sep 06, 2013 4:10 pm

Hi All,

As part of our honeymoon we will be staying in Skukuza in a Semi Luxury Riverside Bungalow. Which side do you think is better, East or West?

From what i can see West seems to be closer to the fence, the ones on the East are quite close to a guest house. Any feedback will be appreciated.

We stayed in one to the left of the restaurant, so I presume that was West.............it was very close to the river with a lovely view and quiet.

The ones on the western side are lovely and do have a great view over the river.

If possible try to get one of those

Camp Biyamiti

Dear all,

we will do our second Kruger trip this year in October 14. I can`t wait.
Last time in Feb/March 14 we were caught by the heavy rains and couldn`t visit all our booked Bushveld Camps. That was such a pitty.

Next Oct./Nov. I hope we will be lucky to enjoy again the beautiful bushveld camps. One of them will be Biyamti. We visited the camp a long long time ago. So I need a little help.
We have booked a Guest Cottage NGC5V , with a river view.
My question : Are all Guest Cottages are equipped with new furniture and curtains, are the bathrooms upgraded ?
I thought to follow your advice under the topic "best unit numbers" and ask for unit 7 or 1.
Someone else also recommended No. 9, but if you look onto the map of Biyamti the distance between 9 and the river looks quite far.
What would you suggest ?

Many thank in advance, greetings, Brigitte

I all

SO and I will be heading to Kruger early next year. First week is in Olifants, then to Tamboti and then to Berg-en-Dal.

I've managed to secured our old favourites......Tamboti tent no 40 and Berg-en-Dal chalet no 27.
This will be our first time in Olifants and I’ve managed to book a BBD2V

And now all the questions pop up........ :slap:
I’ve read that 9 has the best view…through a fence, 10, 11 seems to have unobstructed views, 12 and 13 have a tree obstructing the view….and all the units is a bit ‘oldish’ on the inside.
Then I’ve read about the revamped perimeter BD3U’s 111-106 with partial views, maybe being a better option................ :hmz:

I would like to know what units would give us the most privacy with an unobstructed view. BBD2V 9 - 13 or BD3U 111 - 106............and is there really a tree obstructing the view at BBD2V 12 & 13

As said, this is our very first time in Olifants and I would like best unobstructed view with the most privacy

Any advice would be appreciated

Remie no 9 is very private and the fence really doesn't obstruct your view

Thank you so much for the advice Carol. I've sent my request to Olifants, so keeping our fingers crossed for number 9

Hi all :)

I can't seem to find any recommendations for the BA3 units.....

Unfortunately BnD's BA3U perimeter units are fully booked (Dec), thus we are left with the BA3 unit.

Any BA3 units that are worth booking in advance or shall any unit do? :hmz:

Thanks in advance

The only one I can see with pics is This one
but I think you might be right, I don't think it matters greatly if not perimeter.

We stayed in one without a view a few years back but did have wonderful bird visitors and a little Genet that came around every day and at night. 8)

Thanks Elsa :)

Also saw that pic and was wondering whether it might be worth reserving that number....

Too bad about the perimeter bungalows - better luck next time!
