Addo Elephant

The Alexandria Hiking Trail is a 36 km, two-day circular trail. The first day is 19.5 km and the second day, 16.5 km.

 

 


Zuurberg Hiking Trails: Various options provide a perfect day outing for park visitors, at no extra cost. Choose between the Cycad Trail, a one-hour trail – suited for those who want a sedate walk – and the Doringnek Trail, a four-hour trail which takes the visitor to a beautiful natural water pool.

The Tree Dassie Trail is named after the rare tree dassie (hyrax) that lives in the Alexandria forest. The trail starts at the office and follows the grass roads to Langevlakte where the trail meets up and joins the two-day trail leading back to the office. No bookings are necessary and the trail is free of charge (apart from park entrance fees).

 

Agulhas

Several nature trails and a unique trail to traverse the southern-most tip of Africa.

 

Augrabies Falls

 

Klipspringer Trail (2 over night stops)

Nature trails (no bookings necessary):
- Arrow Point (one hour)
- Potholes (one hour)
- Moon Rock (one hour).

 

Bontebok

Two short nature trails, starting and ending in the restcamp area.

 

Golden Gate

Rhebok Hiking Trail (1 overnight stop)

Short nature trails (varying from 1 hour to 5 hours): no bookings required.

There are many hiking trails within the park that appeal to a wide audience - from those wanting a short or leisurely walk to those seeking a longer and more challenging hike.

- The Strandveld Educational Trail starts and ends at Geelbek Homestead. (2 days and 3 nights)

The Postberg Flower Trail is open during the spring flowering season only.
There are walks of 7, 9, 14 and 16km

- Steenbok One Day Trail

 

There are ± 1 km walks to 3 birdhides.
