Commercial Operator Information
The Table Mountain National Park Commercial Operator registration fee will increase to R 250 from 1 September 2013.
In 2010 Table Mountain National Park (TMNP) began a consultative process with tourism industry stakeholders - Western Cape branch of the Southern Africa Tourism Services Association, Cape Town Tourism, the Cape Tourist Guide Association, South African Tourism, the Tourist Guides Allied Workers Union, City of Cape Town and the Department of Economic Development and Tourism - with regards to the implementation of a permitting system for commercial operators within TMNP.
South African National Parks' (SANParks) has reviewed this system and aims to permit commercial activities as stipulated in the Park's Conservation Development Framework, Environmental Management Programmes and relevant legislation by 01 October 2012. Such activities would include but are not limited to:
- Film or photographic shoots
- Group events
- Helicopter landings
- Cultural or sporting events
- Organized or special events
- Fund raising
- Extreme sports, food, beverage, curios and craft sales
- Equipment rental
- Selling or hiring goods
- Offering to sell or hire goods.
Please note that commercial guiding activities are not included in the list above and a permitting system in this regard is under review by SANParks. Commercial Tour Operators and / or Guides who have already been issued with permits to operate within TMNP will have their permit extended for as long as it takes to finalize the review.
Applications for permits for these aforementioned commercial activities should be forwarded to:
The Payments Controller
Ms. Crystal Saville
Tel: 086 694 3628 or email email@example.com.
For further information on the commercial permitting process within TMNP, please contact Ms. Saville as per details provided above.
