While SANParks is regarded as a blue chip organisation in the environmental and tourist space, nevertheless, sustainability remains a challenge for many organisations, including SANParks, in the non-profit and parastatal space. CSI budgets are driven by profitability, which is declining in the face of the global economic down turn.
The SANParks Fundraising Department is the custodian of all fundraising activities, on behalf of SANParks and prides itself as World Class Governance, Compliance and Management of Donor Funding.
All donor funding received is managed in accordance with strict governance imperatives, in accordance with legislative and policy frameworks, and utilised specifically according to Grant Agreements, signed with donors.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting (MER) systems, measure and monitor the impact of donor funding in respect of specific projects and programmes, and regular reports are provided to donors. The Fundraising Department manages the full funding cycle, ensuring the issuing of Section 18(a.
Tax Certificates and other verification evidence required by local and international donors. Systems and processes are in place in order to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in respect of managing the funding cycle and to further ensure accountability and client relationship management.
